Lauren + Jacques' Winter Garden Engagement Session

Our next delightful couple is Lauren and Jacques, whom we joined in Lake Louisa Park and downtown Winter Garden for an engagement session. Lauren wanted photos in a more natural setting, as she loves nature: she grew up in the country and currently works in the environmental field, supervising a team of environmental scientists to ensure the correct storage and disposal of waste by businesses.

On the day of the shoot, it started to rain a bit, so we branched out and got a few photos around downtown Winter Garden as well. Funny enough this worked out perfectly to portray our couple, as Jacques is more of a city boy that works for EA Games as an audio artist.

Lauren and Jacques had a blast at the shoot with their two “doggos”, who along with their cat are the other loves of their life. We loved spending the day with them and hope you get to see how much joy they bring each other through these photos!

Lauren and Jacques met through friends of friends. A friend of Lauren’s was friends with a friend of Jacques’, and somehow the two friends and Jacques ended up on a weekend trip together. Just by spending time with him, Lauren’s friend knew that Jacques would be a good match for her, and got to work setting them up. Upon returning, Lauren’s friend told her all about Jacques, and, intrigued, she friended him on Facebook. Weeks and few Facebook messages later, they went on their first date.

From that first date, Lauren could tell there was something different about this one. They became best friends, both having playful fun together and inspiring each other to be better. They enjoy eating at locally-owned restaurants and supporting local businesses.

She knew that he would be the One about 6 months in. Jacques knew after that first date.

When it came time for the proposal, Jacques brought Lauren to an overlook on a mount in Canada, where his family lives. The view was spectacular, and so Lauren started taking pictures. She was so distracted by the sights that she was caught completely off-guard when he asked her to marry him.

The love these two have for each other is more than apparent in their photos, but even more when you ask them to describe each other in one word. Lauren’s word for Jacques? Inspiring. Jacques’ answer for Lauren? Breathtaking.

Lauren and Jacques chose Venue 1902 in Sanford, Florida as their venue. It popped up as they were looking around at venues, and once they saw it in person, the two fell in love. The thing they’re most looking forward to is, of course, marrying their best friend, but also having fun with their friends and family. After the wedding, they look forward to traveling and exploring the world together, whether it be near or far.

Congratulations to Lauren and Jacques! Thank you for including us in the joyful experience of your engagement, and we wish you all the best on your journey together!

Kellan + Curry's Bok Tower Engagement Session

We had a fantastic day shooting an engagement session for Kellan and Curry at Bok Tower Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida. These two were clearly full of love for each other and for Kellan’s Golden Retriever, Kinner. Kellan and Curry chose to do their engagement session at Bok Tower because of the gorgeous scenery and the ability to include Kinner, their other true love, in some of the photos. It was a wonderful experience getting to know them and hear their love story. Here are some of our favorite photos, and some of our favorite facts about Kellan & Curry!

Kellan and Curry’s love story began at Lake Eola. On that fateful day, Kellan was walking her then 2-month-old Golden Retriever puppy, Kinner. Curry was out for a jog. They happened to cross paths, and Curry asked if he could pet her dog. The two got to talking, Curry asked if she would like to go on a date with him, and the rest was history! Of course, Curry also says he’s pretty sure that she fainted when he saw him. The jury is still out on that one.

The story continued with Curry’s proposal - it was, unfortunately, a dark and stormy night. While Curry’s plan had been to propose at the beach at sunset in Fort Lauderdale, Curry found himself confronted with two major flaws in the plan. First of all, Florida had decided that it would rain that night. Secondly, the beach in Fort Lauderdale faced east - away from the sunset. Despite these mishaps, Curry realized what was really important about the proposal, and asked the biggest question of his life: could he be Kinner’s dad? Happily for the three of them, Kellan said yes!

Kellan and Curry chose to hold their wedding at Venue 1902 in Sanford, Florida. They chose the space because for a few reasons: they had met the owners and loved them; they really enjoyed the aesthetic of a converted schoolhouse; and the venue is close to where Kellan grew up in Oviedo. An additional bonus was the ability to have their ceremony and reception in the same location, which makes the day a lot more convenient for both wedding party and guests!

Our happy couple are most excited for the wedding because afterwards, they’ll finally be living together in the same city! They’ve been doing long-distance for almost two years, and after all that time apart, they are so ready to see each other every day. The two will be living in Denver, Colorado, and once they’re married, these two are really excited to snowboard, travel, and go on adventures together as newlyweds.

Congratulations and best of luck to Kellan and Curry! Thank you for letting us be a part of your engagement session; it was a joy to see how much love and excitement you have for each and for the future! We at Lilly & Lilly Photography wish you the absolute best as you begin this next adventure together.

Christine + Caleb's Park Ave Engagement Session

We had a wonderful time doing an engagement shoot session with Christine and Caleb on Park Ave in Winter Park. Together we explored different parts of the avenue, finding romantic moss-covered trees, gorgeous architecture, and even getting a few shots at a dock on the water.

Matt + Ariana's Winter Garden, FL Engagement Session

Matt and Ariana describe themselves as each other’s best friend, with a strong relationship, built on being there for one another throughout the many ups and downs of life. And if that doesn’t describe the foundation of a great marriage, we don’t know what does.

Emily and Gage's wedding at The Standard Knoxville

I first met Gage and Emily when Gage asked me to photograph him proposing to Emily at California Grill during the fireworks at Walt Disney World. It wasn't long after that they asked me to photograph their wedding. Their wedding took place at The Standard Knoxville in Knoxville, Tennessee. It was absolutely gorgeous!
